Justin Frye (b. 1985) is a musician and visual artist from Virginia Beach, VA, who has been based out of New York City since 2003. Frye has released 5 LPs + countless tapes, 7”s and EPs with his project PC Worship, which also acts as a vessel for his visual art, photography & writing. His compositions have been featured on tv, radio and in multiple films including Workaholics (Comedy Central), Everything is Stories (podcast) & the Electric Surfboard Acid Test (STAB/ Vans).  As an active multi-instrumentalist and improviser he has performed, recorded &/or collaborated with a diverse range of musicians like Glenn Branca, Parquet Courts, Greg Fox, William Parker, Dan Deacon, $keletons, Birthmark, Susie Ibarra, Ashcan Orchestra, Gary War & many more. As an audio engineer, he has produced & recorded every PC Worship recording, as well as releases by Ex Eye (Relapse), Heaven’s Gate (Dull Tools), Thurston Moore, Joe McPhee, YoshimiO, Arian Shafiee (VDSQ) and more. He was a live sound engineer at seminal avant garde music venue Roulette for 7 years, at the legendary LES punk club Cakeshop for 5 years and is currently the Director of Music at Pioneer Works, a non profit art center in Brooklyn, NY, where he programs and curates a diverse range of performances and residencies. As a visual artist he has quietly made numerous album covers, flyers and zines over the past decade with a warped-punk aesthetic, developed early in his life making posters and shirt graphics on xerox machines and lineoleum cuts. His work was recently featured on the cover of Monster Children Issue 60 (2018), as well as a book titled “PCPC” with Andrew Savage (Dull Tools, 2015). Frye plans to continue haphazardly working on new music and art, as well as programming, collaborating and producing with the people he loves for years to come.
